Spiritual direction is a joyful, life-giving space. As a companion on the journey of faith, I’ve found it to be both beautiful and mysterious—a sacred practice of generous listening and sharing hearts and lives as those beloved by God. What a privilege to draw closer with each other to the One who knows us best as we become more of who we authentically are! Born and raised in the diverse community of Chicago as a Japanese American, my background has been shaped by a rich tapestry of culture and faith. As a teacher, case manager, and diagnostician. I’ve worked with general education and Special Needs students and their families. I’ve mentored educators and taught from preschool through graduate level, often attending to the chronic sorrow families experience. The integration of this, the spiritual journey, and the neurobiological findings of how humans live continually fuels my passion for walking with others with questions and those desiring to depend their connections with and follow in the ways of God.
